Fueling Our Residents with Healthy Scraps!

(Tax Benefits Included!)

Your grocery store, market, or bakery generates food scraps that are a valuable resource, not waste, for us.

By donating clean, unwanted produce, day-old bread, or stale crackers, you divert perfectly usable items from the landfill and instead provide nutritious and exciting food and enrichment for the animals in our care.

What We Happily Accept:

  • Produce: Fresh fruits and vegetables (whole, partial, or scraps)

  • Baked Goods: Breads, pastries, rolls, and crackers (stale or day-old are fine)

Please Note: Items We CANNOT Accept

(Strictly Enforced):

  • NO Meat or meat products

  • NO Dairy products (milk, cheese, yogurt, etc.)

  • NO Prepared foods (items containing sauces, dressings, or large amounts of oils/spices)

  • NO Opened or damaged canned goods

All donated food items are for animal consumption only and will not be used for human consumption.

Building Better Habitats: 
Wood Chip Donation

We rely on local tree services and landscapers to provide clean, natural wood chips that are essential for animal bedding, safe enclosure flooring, and drainage.

Your generous donation helps us create comfortable, stimulating environments while diverting bulk organic material from your disposal costs and supporting animal welfare.

What We Happily Accept:

  • Mixed Hardwood: Oak, Maple, Ash, Sycamore, etc. (Natural, untreated)

  • Clean Softwood: Pine, Fir (Must be natural and untreated)

  • Fresh, Natural Chips: Recently chipped material from tree trimming and removal.

Please Note: Items We CANNOT Accept

(Strictly Enforced):

  • Toxic Wood Species: Black Walnut, Black Cherry, Yew, Oleander, Avocado.

  • Treated/Tainted Wood: Lumber, painted, stained, or pressure-treated wood.

  • Contaminants: Metal, plastic, rocks, construction debris, or excessive dirt/soil.

  • Small Loads: We cannot accept pickup truck-sized loads or small utility trailers.

Delivery Logistics: Due to the required volume, wood chip donations must be delivered to our facility.

Building Better Habitats: 
Building Material Donation

We rely heavily on donated construction materials, tools, and hardware to maintain, repair, and build safe, specialized enclosures and facilities for the animals in our care. Your donation of new or gently-used supplies helps us reduce infrastructure costs and ensures a safe, well-maintained habitat environment.

 

What We Happily Accept:

 

  • Wood & Timber: New or used dimensional lumber (2x4s, 4x4s, etc.), sheets of plywood (exterior grade). We also accept clean, rough-cut timber (logs/beams).

  • Fencing & Enclosures: Galvanized wire mesh, hog paneling, cattle panels, high-quality hardware cloth, and durable gates.

  • Roofing & Drainage: Metal roofing panels, new bundles of asphalt shingles, and large landscaping rocks/pavers for drainage or stability.

  • Hardware & Supplies: Screws (exterior/deck), nails, hinges, latches, heavy-duty wiring, and paint (new, in original, sealed containers only).

  • Tools: Gently used hand tools, power tools in good working order, wheelbarrows, and specialized equipment.

 

Please Note: Items We CANNOT Accept

(Strictly Enforced):

 

  • Toxic/Treated Wood: Lumber treated with CCA (chromated copper arsenate), railroad ties, or any material that could be toxic if chewed by animals.

  • Hazardous Chemicals: Solvents, thinners, or any chemicals without original, sealed containers.

  • Used/Open Paint: Any opened cans of paint, stain, or sealant, or any paint not in its original packaging.

  • Scrap/Damaged Items: Rusty metal, severely warped wood, broken glass, interior drywall, or household furniture.

  • Unsuitable Rock: Small pebbles, gravel, or decorative stones that are chemically treated.
